The Challenge of Conversation

“Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul would have soon lived in silence” Psalms 94: 17

We talk with one another to enjoy encouragement and enjoyment, we hear information that guides us in daily activities, we share warnings for protection and we express our affection and love in caring for one another.

Today, if our conversations involve lots of dramatic changes foreign to our way of life,  negative thinking and emotion are the results. As our world blares out the battles that rage, our conversations can stay very superficial to avoid “feeling” bad and overwhelmed. We hear “That is enough, I’m not listening anymore” and we shut down the gift of communicating because the brain struggles with what to retain, and brain fatigue sets in. . We fail to realize in shutting down our conversations, in any depth,  we also close our hearts to real needs.

Our conscience is a tool the Holy Spirit works with to give us operative freedom to choose the content of our conversations. We can avoid idle chatter. So,  listen in and loosen up as we discover the workings of the Conscience to maintain meaningful conversations.

Culture Influences Beliefs

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage” Galatians 5:1

The word entangled intrigues me as it means to become twisted together or caught up in a trap, a snare, jumble, muddled.  In our world, this may include anything from a spider web, fishing nets, traffic jams, or even relationships involving different worldviews. We have been given by Jesus Christ liberty and freedom to stand fast in how we live, but we find ourselves entrapped is missing this freedom and failing to show what others need to see.

Our world has enticed us to accept their values and in doing so we have walked into the trap of entanglement and not being aware that we are trying to live in two different worlds. We struggle to understand ourselves in this dilemma and wonder why there is confusion and looking for escape methods.

Let’s check out a simple definition of a worldview and then unravel the entangle blending that sets us up for contentions, struggles, failing to give our children a solid foundation, and living in this maze of compromise, not aware of our choices.  Cultural priorities, education, acceptance of differences in life focus, and why that bothers us so much will be highlights for today.

The Condition of Our Heart

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” Psalm 139:23-24

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss matters of the heart. As we read the words David prayed to the Lord, we to can ask God to search our hearts and thoughts to expose the things that we are unaware of.
When our eyes are opened we can see clearly, repent and be lead in His way. So, join in the conversation as we allow these words to be our prayer today and examine the condition of our hearts.

Culture Invades the Church

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Mentoring Matters, Janie and Sharon discuss how the world’s culture has invaded the church.

In Mark 16:15, Jesus says, “Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

We have become comfortable with simply inviting people to church so they can hear the gospel rather than being responsible to share the gospel ourselves.
As you listen, find why we have become afraid to share in the marketplace.
Examine your foundation to find where you can be strengthened in Christ. Using God’s word to apply Biblical principles, position, instruction, and conformation of Biblical truth and develop Biblical-based beliefs.

Reminded to Remember

“Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though you know them, and be established in the present truth” 2 Peter 1:12.

This week on Sharin Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the importance of remembering.
Peter emphasizes how he will continually remind the readers to remember. Throughout Paul’s writings, we find that he repeatedly reminds us of truths that the Lord wants us to remember.
How many times have you heard something that you “know” but have forgotten? How many times have you shared with someone a truth, only to hear them say, “I know”? Or, you heard yourself saying, “I know” to a truth?
We all have things that we need to be reminded of and strengthened in each day.
So, join in the conversation as we discover the importance of being reminded to remember.

Remembering and Forgetting

“Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent” Revelation 3:3

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the topic of remembering.
There was a time that many of us use to remember phone numbers and birthdays, but today technology does that for us. We now live in the “information age” and sometimes we can get information overload.
We are encouraged to find out that God created us to hold only so much information so dementia may not be the problem, maybe our brain is forgetting things that are not relevant in order to protect us from overload.
So, join in the conversation as we learn more about remembering and forgetting.

Bless The Lord O My Soul

“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name” Psalm 103:1
This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the importance of praising the Lord in the storms of life.
There are many perplexities that we are all facing in the midst of multiple unknowns. Fears are griping our hearts and we need a reset of faith. It seems the negative is what we focus on and talk about because we are overwhelmed.
Let’s be encouraged to praise the Lord and be strengthened in faith.
So, join in the conversation as we Bless the Lord O My Soul.

Blessed Are Those That Wait On The Lord

Isaiah 30:18 “ Therefore the Lord will wait that He may be gracious to you: and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.”

In the times we live it is much harder to wait and be still than to work and be busy. If there is uncertainty, WAIT. Always, if you have doubt WAIT.  Do not force yourself into action. If you have restraint in your spirit, wait until all is clear.

Waiting for God is not laziness, going to sleep, or abandonment of effort. Waiting for God means, activity under command, readiness for a new command that may come or the ability to do nothing until the command is given. To wait is to live a life of desire toward God, delight in Him, dependence on Him, and devotedness to Him. He is the reason we are willing to wait in life that we may know Him in a deep abiding relationship and be prepared to worship, work, and wonder at the grace that is ours throughout eternity.

On the other hand, the world wants us to be getting instead of giving, organizing rather than agonizing, playing instead of praying, selfish in place of service, worrying and not worshipping, anxious rather than patience, loathing replacing loving, working preferably to weeping, whining instead of waiting on God.

Follow the path that is prepared for us in waiting on God by being still before Him. Jeremiah 6:16

Blessed Are Those Who Examine Their Heart

1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord knowing your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie Ratzlaff and Sharon Hoskins explore attributes needed in our lives as examples for living the Exchange Life God calls us to. What would that life look like?

Traits to admire and trust include: keep our words timely, our walk, and talk consistently. When under attack from others we respond by being quick to hear and slow to speak.

In difficult situations, involving more than one person will seek to support the weak and strong in finding balance, keeping unity and harmony to avoid unnecessary conflicts, so the goal may be reached.

Character, revealed by words and actions, will assure the observer there will be no sarcasm, double-tongued speech passed to others. Mature leaders lead through serving.

An Exchanged Life always encourages praise and gratitude and knows how to build up without tearing down; requesting accountability and loyalty with a sincere heart of LOVE.

So join in the conversation as we examine how Blessed Are Those Who Examine Their Heart.

Blessed Are All Who Repent

Hebrews 2:1 warns and advises, “We must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest  we drift away.”

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie Ratzlaff and Sharon Hoskins offer hope from the voice of Jesus Christ in the Bible on staying and standing strong under testing and attacks. Now, we need to recognize when we are under attack; sometimes from direct fiery darts, but many times in ways so subtle that we don’t sense the danger until we are wounded and wanting to cover up our wrongs; or worse yet, no longer care and believe we have need of nothing.

The Lord has provided understanding that our battleground is the mind. Scripture teaches prayerful ways to stay alert to the dangers that defeat us. Funny, because too much time on our hands can be as threatening as too little time, because of excessive busyness. Desiring our own agenda for relaxation and enjoyment has a high risk if not under the guidance of the Spirit. Our own agenda needs to be His agenda we have wholeheartedly sought.

As you listen today, examine your heart and ask yourself, what are my priorities that can lead to the blessings of repentance and reconciliation?

Blessed Is The Steadfast Heart

I Corinthians 15:57 and 58 “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my Beloved, be STEADFAST, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not vain in the Lord.”

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss a steadfast heart. The heart has many descriptions of how it functions for healthy living in our bodies. It must be constant in its labor of faithfully pumping lifeblood through our arterial system. Likewise, our inner being also needs a steadfast function. There are special qualities that are evidenced in character when we understand the attributes of steadfastness.

We will examine several lives that show us living examples of steadfastness and how steadfastness is developed, how it is defined as, firm, fixed in place, constancy, resolute, not fickle, or wavering. Has the ability to resist. It is the firmness of mind or purpose.

To lack in this attribute is to weaken your ability to fight battles of life, whether in the mind or encountering the landmines of life.

Come join us in the conversation as we prepare to build this quality character so your labor will have a purpose in life.

Blessed Are Those Who Love the Lord

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. According as He has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love” Ephesians 1:3-4.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon seek to encourage you in the Lord. The wonderful blessings that He gives to each one of His children who love Him are beyond words to describe.
Jesus is our foundation of truth that gives us a relationship with Father God in the same love that they share as Father and Son. We can partake in that love.
So join in the conversation as we discover how blessed are those who love the Lord.

Blessed Are Those Who Endure To the End

John 13:1 tells us the love from Jesus’ heart endures and abides with those He loves until the End.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon review the promise of Matthew 24:13 where Jesus declares that, “He who endures to the end shall be saved.”

If we lack understanding of the LOVE of GOD in these uncertain days, we will find ourselves developing bad attitudes of passivity and indifference in our minds and hearts to our world around us and those living with us.

God’s love is ETERNAL and how do we choose to apply that love in daily living? God loves us with the SAME LOVE as He loves His Son. How we perceive and live in HIS love can decide our Destination as well as our Destiny.

So join in the conversation to see how we have been grafted into His Everlasting Love that never fails.

Blessed Are the Lonely Hearts

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth” Psalm 46:10.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon take a look at the heart of King David; who was a man after God’s own heart.
God prepared David in solitude and loneliness, building him little by little through adversity and trials. He gained the courage to stand against fear, he learned to hear God’s voice in the stillness of aloneness, and his faith was made strong through the dependence he found in Christ.
God prepares us the same way He did David; we need only to surrender to the conditions in which He places us to be molded.
So join in the conversation as we find how blessed are the lonely hearts.

Blessed Are Those Who Overcome Fear with Faith

“Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, there is no help for him in God. Selah. But You, O Lord, are a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me out of His holy hill. Selah” Psalm 3:1-4.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss how we can overcome fear with faith. When fear overtakes us, then all our decisions, actions, words, and behavior comes from an emotional place that can paralyze our hearts and minds.
Faith can overcome fear; when fear comes knocking, let faith answer the door and say, there’s no room in here for you. This is a means by which we can guard our hearts against the subtlety of the enemy who whats to destroy our witness and fear is one of his most successful weapons.
So, join in the conversation as we discover how to overcome fear with faith.

Blessed Are Those Who Fear the Lord

“Blessed is every one that fears the Lord; that walks in His ways” Psalm 128:1.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss how to overcome the emotional fears that many Believers are facing today.
When we walk in the fear of the Lord, we have nothing to fear. The adversity brings opportunity for our faith and trust in the Lord to be deepened.
We hardly recognize the subtle ways that emotional fears can grab ahold of our life. We become paralyzed and begin to crumble but if we could recognize the subtlety of fear we can grab back ahold of faith and trust the Lord who loves us.
So, join in the conversation as we discover how blessed are those who fear the Lord.

Blessed is Our Lord God Almighty

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie Ratzlaff and Sharon Hoskins give encouragement in knowing that God is in control of all things.
Even though we face many emotional challenges in adversities, we have no need to despair; God is still on the throne.
Even though we may face the enemy, we have nothing to fear; God has defeated him.
Even though we face uncertainty, we have certainty because God is in control.
So join in the conversation as we discuss how Blessed is Our Lord God Almighty.

Blessed Are Those Who Persevere

“Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love Him” James 1:12

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the importance of persevering through the struggles that we face each day so that we are better prepared for the struggles we will face tomorrow.
We’ve all heard the reference that we are in the Lord’s Army, so it’s time we get prepared in boot training to be the warriors that God needs. It won’t be easy, we will need to be strong and very courageous, we will need to persevere and God will lead us to victory.
So join in the conversation as we discover how Blessed Are Those Who Persevere.

Blessed Are Those with a Warrior’s Heart

“Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light. See that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil” Ephesians 5:14-16

This week on Sharin Hearts Woman to Woman, Jaine and Sharon speak words of encouragement to the Christians.
It is time for us to be strong and very courageous. We need to rise up from our slumber, wake up to the truth of scripture, and grow up in Christ so that we will be able to stand for the days are evil.
Evil has always been present but as the church slept the enemy has walked right in and taken charge. Fighting without Christ will always leave us in defeat, and if we have sin in our lives we are powerless against the enemy.
So, join in the conversation as we examine how blessed are those with a warrior’s heart.

Blessed Are the Unoffended

“These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be offended” John 16:1
This week on Sharin Hearts Woman to Woman, Jaine and Sharon discuss the topic of offenses and answer the question: What does it mean to be offended?
What are the many ways that we can get offended and how does that offense relate to God? If I am offended by a friend, family, community member, or situation does that mean I am offended by God?
When we understand the subtle ways we are letting offenses take place, we will have a better understanding of how to recognize them before they take hold of our hearts.
Hard hearts are usually held together by the mortar of offenses but when we refuse to be offended that’s when God is able to mold our hearts into His image.

Blessed Are Those Who Trust in the Lord

“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence” Jer. 17:7.
This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the importance of trusting in the Lord. During the uncertain times that we are facing in our world today, it is vital that we, as believers, keep our focus on the Lord our God.
We can’t lose heart when things don’t turn out the way we want or even the way we believe God wants. When we pray, we must remember to pray for God’s will and not our own.
God is still on the throne.
So join in the conversation as we discuss how blessed are those who trust in the Lord.

Blessed Are Those Who Diligently Seek Him

“Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. Blessed are they that keep His testimonies, and that seek Him with the whole heart” Psalm 119:1-2.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the blessings that encompass our life as we grow in Christ.

The world can keep us distracted with the struggles it brings and it can become difficult to separate ourselves and pull apart from it, but the Lord gives us great and many promises that we can trust in.

So, join in the conversation as we find how blessed are those who diligently seek Him.

Blessed Are Those Who Hunger and Thirst

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled” Matthew 5:6

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie Ratzlaff and Sharon Hoskins talk about God’s promise to fill those who seek after Him.

In these uncertain times, it is important for Christians to be a beacon of hope to those around us; for us to be salt and light, but in order for us to shine, we must first be filled.

So, join in the conversation as we discover how blessed are those who hunger and thirst.

Know WHO You Believe

This week on Sharin’ Hearts: The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green digs into Know Who You Believe by Paul Little.

Do you question whether God knows or cares about you in your everyday life? Would you like to be connected with God? Do you feel you need to know a little more about God before connecting with Him?

If so, come be a part and join author Paul Little as he helps you to closely examine the central truths about God and enable you to know with confidence in whom you believe!

This 3rd volume was published after the death of Paul Little by his wife Marie Little from a cache of Paul’s files, tapes, and a previous book entitled The Answer to Life. Marie has used Paul’s voice on every page…the thoughts and theology are his. Marie has added some updated terms and references, but whenever she does, she has set them off from the main text.

I so appreciate the work she has done. To me, it is such a blessing that Paul’s wonderful insights were not lost due to his untimely death.

It is not enough to know about God’s Word, ways, and attributes. It is not enough to preach about these, proclaim the Good News, or promote Bible study. What the deciding factor is of whether or not we are in-dwelt by the Spirit of God and on the road to eternal life is that we know God.

Blessed Are the Pure in Heart

“Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God” Matthew 5:8

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie Ratzlaff and Sharon Hoskins discuss the matters of the heart.

It’s really important for us as Christians today, to be salt and light to those around us. Especially with all the struggles that we are seeing in our nation and around the world.

Unfortunately, with are finding it difficult to be a beacon of hope to others. So, we hope to encourage you with the scriptures.

Join in the conversation as we the truth about our own heart, because Blessed Are the Pure in Heart.

Know WHY You Believe

This week on Sharin’ Hearts The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green pulls “Know Why You Believe” by Paul Little from the bookshelf to take a look inside.

If in today’s world you believe the Bible is from God and it is TRUTH, that is a good thing. However, if the time comes when you want to become a disciple, a learner, of what you believe to be true, then pushing forward is mandatory. If you desire to become a defender of WHAT you believe and taking the aggressive role in being able to present your case with conviction, then it is vital to know WHY you believe.

Global society is working very hard to wipe out absolutes from our history and moral values. We find ourselves regressing in our growth if we cannot understand and convey knowledge that will stand to man’s logic, reason, and rationalization. If what you believe cannot be proven by why you believe, then your creditability is destroyed. It is just another opinion.

When we are established in What we believe and Why we believe our foundation will be solid and well-pleasing to God.  Furthermore, we will be equipped to do the good works we have been called to do and able to stand against the attacks from the enemy.  Knowing What and Why in our theology keeps us from being deceived because the Truth abiding in us sets us free. Without a solid foundation, we will be tossed about, falling into unbelief and confusion.

Listen carefully to the challenging discussion that causes us to question Why we believe.

Love Leads to Repentance

“For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed” Matthew 13:15

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon continue to discuss this call to repentance that we are hearing in America.

In Revelation 2 & 3 we find letters to the churches that commend, correct, and call for repentance; with a warning to always have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying to us.

Hebrews warns us not to harden our hearts to the voice of the Lord. We never want to grow dull of hearing. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” Romans 10:17

So join in the conversation as we discuss how Love Leads to Repentance.

Personal Call to Repentance

“He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” Rev. 2:7, 2:11, 2:17, 2:29, 3:6, 3:13, 3:22.

This week on Sharin” Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon continue their conversation on the cry of repentance that is being heard once again in America.

Hebrews warns us not to harden our hearts to the voice of the Lord. In Revelation chapters 2 and 3, each letter written to the churches, Jesus warns us to have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to us.

So join in the conversation as we discuss the importance of making this cry a personal call to repentance.

Know WHAT You Believe

This week on Sharin’ Hearts The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green pulls “Know What You Believe” by Paul Little.

What has established your beliefs about WHAT you believe? Family tradition, something you read or heard in social media, Church and Sunday School teaching, or first- hand bible study.

So many today have a theology built on second-hand faith. We may not be true disciples or learners as we accept whatever we are told is Truth without the discipline of daily searching the Scriptures. WE must be waiting on the ultimate professor of faith, the Holy Spirit to enlighten the doctrines, tenants, history, the God of the Bible, and timely truth. Do you really know WHO you worship and hopefully center your life around or is your God a God of convenience and comfort for your benefit only?

Most Christians today cannot defend their faith or beliefs, even though they believe. It is a scary world in the Church today. To think of a soldier not sure what the rules of engagement are, not knowing the people in charge of his company or platoon, not understanding any of the directives given or how to implement them, the war would not be won. We are facing the same crisis within the Body of Christ and the daily attacks are being met with indifference or little concern of what is on the horizon coming straight toward us. We are not prepared!!

Take time out today to start a new commitment to put on your armor and understand the purpose of wearing it. In this day and age, if you are not willing to be a soldier/warrior living independence under your Commander, life will be filled with defeat and anguish. Yes, Grace always abounds, but there are “rules” to grace being properly appropriated. GET GROUNDED in WHAT YOU BELIEVE!!

Destined for the Throne

This week on Sharin’ Hearts: The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green reviews Destined for the Throne by Paul E. Billheimer

If you are not satisfied with cradles and pacifiers for the Christian life, desiring to be more useful in our Master’s service, then here is a meaty volume of practical value.

This book, DESTINED FOR THE THRONE, challenges us to see the Church in all her glory, where we have originated, where we are going in God’s eternal purposes. It ties intercession into the why of our existence. Where do you fit into this program?  If you want to taste the fullness of knowing who you are IN CHRIST, open your ears and heart to this message by Paul Billheimer.

True Repentance

“Remember therefore from where you are fallen, and repent” Rev. 2:5

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon are looking at the letters written to the churches in Revelation chapters 2 and 3 to find what Jesus said about true repentance.
In each letter, Jesus commends them, corrects them, commands repentance, and gives the consequences if they refuse repentance.
As we hear the cry for repentance in our nation today, we want to know what that cry really means for us individually.
So, join in the conversation as we discover the requirements for True Repentance.

Faded Glory

Today on The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green explores Faded Glory by Maurice Lednicky

Today, Bible-believing followers of Jesus are appalled and horrified at the immoral (perhaps amoral) standard that is commonly accepted in our culture. Is the guileless agenda of TV, movies, and music simply coincidental? Are the blatant attacks against those who have a strong commitment of faith isolated acts of the few extremists? Maurice Lednicky doesn’t think so.
In today’s feature, Faded Glory: The Church in a Cultural Crisis, Lednicky insightfully addresses the impact of cultural attitudes and behavior the church has embraced in recent years.

At issue is the manner in which the church has allowed itself to be influenced by culture. There can be no doubt that we are in a serious cultural crisis and that the church of Jesus Christ is in the crosshair of the enemy’s biggest weapon.

So come be a part, as Maurice Lednicky reveals how to properly go about evaluating cultural mores without compromising our faith.

Crown of Life

“Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love Him” James 1:12

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon continue their conversation about the five crowns mentioned in scripture. These crowns are known to be rewards that some will receive when they stand before the Lord at the judgment seat of Christ where all believers will receive praise from the Lord.
The crown of life is mentioned in James 1:12 which tells us the prerequisites for receiving this crown.
So join in the conversation as we examine the Crown of Life.

I, Jesus

Today on The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green explores I, Jesus by William Welty and Chuck Missler

Chances are, Jesus isn’t who you think he is.  No matter what you have read before about this first-century rabbi from Nazareth, there is a good possibility that you have been misinformed.  In fact, maybe you have been wrong from the start about the most amazing man who ever walked the surface of the earth.

I, Jesus speaks in His own words, about Himself, His Purpose, His Nature, and His Mission.

If you desire and want an intimate relationship with Jesus as your First Love, then this is a valuable portrayal of our Savior,  Servant, Shepherd, Messiah, and King.

Crown of Glory

Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve” 1 Peter 5:2

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon continue their conversation about the five crowns mentioned in scripture. These crowns are known to be rewards that some will receive when they stand before the Lord at the judgment seat of Christ. This is also known as the Bema where all believers will receive some praise.

So, join in the conversation as we examine the crown of Glory.

Crazy Busy

This week on Sharin’ Hearts The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green takes a look at Crazy Busy by Kevin DeYoung.

This book begins with a root issue of our Beliefs. What we believe to be true can differ from what we KNOW to be true. Life experiences can feed us misinformation about God.  If we do not rely on God solely for our every need, we become busy attempting to meet our needs and establish our security through our own efforts. Scripture does not teach responsibility ….it teaches faithfulness.

As we desire to be faithful we can walk without fear of failure. If we go through periods of failure as we unscramble, we can claim the truth:  “if we are faithless, He will remain faithful. 2 Timothy 2:13

Author, Kevin DeYoung offers seven diagnoses to help you identify the areas of your life that are contributing to your special brand of “crazy busy” and the one thing necessary for lasting change.

The Crown of Righteousness

“Hereafter there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but to all them also that love His appearing” 2 Timothy 4:8

So, join in the conversation as we examine the crown of righteousness.

The Cross in Faith and Conduct

The one purpose which our Father has in view, in all His ways, is to conform us to the image of His Son.  This may explain our perplexities as to the past, it will govern our behavior in the present; it is to be our guide in the future.

The chief concern of our Lord is not to instruct us about a multitude of details, not to explain to us the reason for the trials which we are called to pass through.  He is working out everything to serve His supreme purpose in displaying the character of His Son in His children He has purchased through the Cross and the shedding of Blood for mankind. If that is where His heart is, then how shall we live to fulfill His plan?

Written almost 100 years ago when our Christianity was centered in the Cross and the fear of the Lord was preached in the pulpits, a call to awaken us that the  Truth of Christ never changes and what was needed then, is still needed today more than ever. The Cross in Faith and Conduct gives practical counsel in making this one purpose applicable.

Crown of Rejoicing

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done, whether it be good or bad” 2 Cor. 5:10

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discussing the crown of rejoicing; this is one of the five crowns that are mentioned in scripture.

The crown of rejoicing is sometimes called the soul winner’s crown because it has to do with leading people to Christ. There are many different ways that the Lord can use a believer to make Himself known to an individual. The crown of rejoicing is not just for those who give the ABC’s of salvation or the Roman’s Road.

Running the Race Well

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ: that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done, whether it be good or bad” 2 Cor 5:10.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the Judgment Seat of Christ and what that Day will mean for the believer. Looking at the crowns and rewards that are mentioned in scripture will give us an understanding of what Paul means when he encourages us to run the race as though we were going to receive a prize.

We can’t really comprehend the magnitude of all that the Lord has for us on that Day, but we know because of who He is they will be so worth the sacrifice, effort, and diligence that we put forth; by Him, through Him, and to Him, to receive them.

So join in the conversation as we dig into the Word to find insights into Running the Race Well.

Waiting on God

This week on Sharin’ Hearts: The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green discusses the book Waiting on God by Andrew Murray

Waiting on God is an important part of worship.  It is becoming a lost art in our daily lives as our culture tells us we must always be busy;  whether in earning a living, serving in a ministry, raising a family to the dictates of our society.  Quietness, in today’s pop thinking, is mainly for the sick, elderly, or seeking solitude just long enough to recharge our batteries to be on the go at breakneck speed.  People complain about being emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, overworked, overloaded, overstressed, but continue the rat race instead of the stable quiet pace for true rest and renewal.  It is our choice no matter how we deny it.

The tragic end of life news blares at us each day about the famous, desperate youth, leaders from every walk of life, saying they have lost purpose and hope for anything more and life is empty.

That Day Reveals

“Let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching” Hebrews 10:24-25.

This week on Sharin Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon find encouragement in the scriptures about the Judgment Seat of Christ. We discover tools that we can put in the Christian toolbox that we can use to prepare us to see Jesus face to face.
Jesus took care of sin on the cross, and we can look forward to that day when He will give us praise and rewards, merits and crowns as we have run the race of life in Christ.
So join in the conversation as we exhort and encourage each other about what That Day Reveals.

Intelligent Design- Uncensored

This week on Sharin’ Hearts: The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green reviews Intelligent Design- Uncensored by William A. Dembski and Jonathan Witt.

Charles Darwin introduced his theory of evolution to argue that blind nature had produced all the species of plants and animals around us and a Creator could not be found in nature.  This thinking entered our educational systems over 100 years ago and has been eroding the thinking of professors and students alike.  The scientific community has been divided in this area.

For those that will study the evolution theory, they will find it has more holes than a sieve, however, most people will not take the time to know how to DEFEND THE FACTS OF THE TRUTH. This book lays the foundation for understanding the “logic of the lie” and explains the evidence, from both science and Scripture, that confirms Intelligent Design in creation. A vital read that parents should digest and instruct our youth in a counterattack because a world without God is a world without hope.

Defining Types of Sins

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness: according to the multitude of Your tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin” Psalm 51:1-2.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie Ratzlaff and Sharon Hoskins examine the different types of sin mentioned in scripture. Even though, sin is not categorized into levels of big and small. The sins discussed are avenues by which we allow sin in our lives, sometimes unknowingly.
The sins that are defined are transgression, iniquity, wickedness, guile, and lawlessness. Knowing the definition of these sins will strengthen our armor and give us the knowledge to stand against the subtlety of the enemy. There is a printable pdf under the resource page if you would like to have a copy to study.

Psycho Babble

Today on The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green explores Psycho Babble by Richard Ganz

There is a saying “The Truth doesn’t cost anything, but a lie  could cost you everything.”  2 Peter 1 lays a foundation on how we may be assured of not falling into the trap of modern psychology lies.  Should we decide to favor the foolish wisdom of this world we will sin grievously if we reject and neglect divine truth.  Verse 3 declares ‘His divine power has given to us ALL things that pertain to life and godliness.”  Verse 4 affirms “exceedingly great and precious promises are ours so that we may be divine partakers of the divine nature.”   Know and apply the promises so you won’t be caught in the lies.

Point of View for Our Trials

“But we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation works patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope” Romans 5:3-4.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss Paul’s counsel to the Corinthian Church about their heart issues.

Thinking they had it all figured out, the church at Corinth was excusing their behavior in liberty while walking in carnality. Paul is writing in hopes to expose the blindness that they had because of their pride. They were unwilling to be corrected and disciplined so Paul is doing all he can to enlighten their hearts to the truth.

So join in the conversation as we examine Paul’s warning to the church and his Point of View for Our Trials.

The Truth About Money Lies

This week on Sharin’ Hearts: The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green reviews The Truth About Money Lies By Russ Crosson. Listen for the money lies you may have believed.

Everyone picks up a book for a reason. It could be to learn, laugh, engage, or escape. But behind any of the reasons is a desire to change. We want something about ourselves to be different when we put the book down. So when we pick up a book, we say to the writers, “teach me something I don’t know or take me somewhere I’ve never been.” Those are certainly our goals with  “The Truth About Money Lies.”  By Russ Crosson.

Faithful Stewards of the Mysteries of God

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” Col. 1:27.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the hidden truths that God has given us to know.

When a Christian is able to live in the middle of pressures of the world, dangers, and stand steadfast in the midst of adversity, that is the mystery (hidden truth) of godliness.

Scripture warns us to not be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of the mind and we renew our minds in the scriptures.

When times are tough and things uncertain, when all looks lost and persecutions come fear begins to fight faith, but do not fear, God is with us; He is still on the throne.

So, join in the conversation as we dig into the scriptures to find out how to be Faithful Stewards of the Mysteries of God.

Wait on the Lord

This week on Sharin’ Hearts: The Fireside Bookshelf, Ginger Green discusses the book Waiting on the Lord by James Smith.

During the days of demands and deadlines, the need to wait on God many times “feels” like just one more demand for our precious time. However, taking the time to maintain the atmosphere in quietness of heart to wait is a mandate, so we can meet those demands and deadlines.

Faith says I will trust God.  Experience confirms the benefits of this attitude and action.  God nowhere promises that faith will receive all its desires immediately but waiting on Him daily will provide the patience, wisdom, assurance, guidance, hope that He is sufficient for all things, moment by moment.

Take a few moments now to renew your desire and commitment to Wait on the Lord.
