The Cross Displays True Friendship

“Hereafter I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known to you” John 15:15.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss how the cross that Christ bore displays what true friendship looks like. His friendship carried the cross, His friendship hung on the cross, His friendship caused Him to die on the cross but He willingly did it in order to buy back those of us who had no hope.

The cross not only gives us the opportunity to come into a relationship with God but also the ability to live victorious each day. The cross paid for our sins by the blood. The cross took care of our flesh by the crucifixion. The cross defeated the power of Satan in our lives by the resurrection.

So join in the conversation as we examine the scriptures that tell us how the cross displays true friendship.

Ways to Foster Spiritual Growth Part 1

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing” 1 Corinthians 13 (KJER).

Janie and Sharon talk about the many ways that we can encourage each other to grow. How can we bring the generations together and create a culture of mentoring in the church. Why have we become so stagnant and what we can do to change it. A desire to grow spiritual is up to each individual person, in their relationship with God. However, growth can be encouraged in ways that comes from a heart of love.
