The Benefits of the Cross

“For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved” John 3:17

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the benefits we receive because of the sacrifice Jesus paid on the cross. The Cross paid for our sins by the blood. This is the benefit that is most talked about and described for salvation. However, receiving this benefit is not the end, there are more benefits that the cross provides the believer to continue to live victorious each day. The cross took care of our flesh by the crucifixion. We are no longer a slave to our natural human nature, we are a new creature in Christ. The cross defeated the power of Satan in our lives by the resurrection.

So Join in the conversation as we discover all the benefits of the cross.

All of Grace

“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin” Romans 6:4-6.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the joy of understanding the full benefits of living under Grace.  For those that choose to accept salvation without finding out the beauty of Romans 6, they will miss living the life that was freely given at the Cross. The Lord Jesus deserves to be trusted and since He says, “I have forgiven” then we can trust His wisdom, His grace, and His knowledge in being willing to forgive those that are our enemies. That, then allows the joy start to flow back within your life and when the joy flows back in your life, there is an inward and outward manifestation that we know the forgiveness is real.  Let’s uncover the promise of Christ taking care of all at the Cross when He  said: “It is finished.”

Solid Foundation Part 2

“A lie believed as truth will affect your life as if it were true even though it is a lie”

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss the way a lie can affect our life. They touch on topics of lies that our society has convinced us are true and on lies that we have believed about ourselves. Each lie affects our life differently but they are all still lies which affect our lives in a negative way. We reject the truth for a lie and Jesus is Truth, therefore we reject Him.

Solid Foundation Part 1

“According to the grace of God which is given to me, as a wise master-builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ” 1 Corinthians 3:10-11.

This week on Sharin’ Hearts Woman to Woman, Janie and Sharon discuss how to build upon the solid foundation of Jesus Christ. The daily struggles of life can take its toll on our Christian walk in applying the scriptures that will help us stand in our faith in the heat of the battle. Finding truth; which is the person Jesus Christ, will give us the right perspective in thinking to overcome many adversities. Jesus is preparing a home for us in heaven and the home He is preparing has to do with how we are living here and now. What are you sending up; gold, silver, and precious stones or wood, hay, and stubble?

Overcoming Temptations

“My brethern, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations (various trials); knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and reproaches not; and it shall be given him” James 2-5.

Sharon Hoskins and Janie Ratzlaff discuss how to recognize and overcome tempations in our spiritual walk. Satan uses the same decietful methods that scammers use to get into our computer, to obtain personal information, and destroy lives. When we give in to temptations, it will destroy our operating system (how we live our lives; the process by which we think and make decisions). In comparing our computer operating system with our personal operating system we gain understanding of how important it is to protect our walk with God.

Two Kinds of Wisdom is explained in this download.

Teaching handouts are available for today’s show. The ABCs of Salvation gives scriptures for every letter of the alphabet (except X & Z) to help you understand salvation.

mary-beth-sheridanFor the last three years I have served as the Director of the Women’s Ministry at Cornerstone Church in Grove, Oklahoma.  I along with my husband, Mark, have been very active in the church with youth as I serve on the praise and worship team, and bible teaching.  Previously, we spent 10 years at Christ Church, where we served as children’s pastors, after having spent a year as Associate Pastors at Jay Family Worship Center in Jay, Oklahoma.  Overall, we have 19 years of experience in the ministry.  We are parents to two children, Joshua and Rachel, and proud grandparents to 4 grandsons, Abram, Michael, Micah, and Lucas.

My childhood was unlike most, in that I grew up with 12 brothers and sisters.  At the age of 11, my life changed overnight.  I lost everything that I had ever known- my home, my siblings, parents, aunts, and uncles.  Life as I knew it, changed forever.  I am a survivor of child abuse, neglect, and eventually, abandonment.  From the age of 11 to the age of 18, I lived in 9 different homes.  Because I lived in so many places, I was raised with many different religions, beliefs, and lifestyles.  This has helped to shape me into the person I am today, as I have experienced many different ways of life.  I had always tried to live up to what my foster parents expected of me but had always felt that it was unobtainable.  At the age of 24, I was ready to give up and had thoughts of ending my life.  That was when I began going to counseling, and in my search of healing, I found Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  It was then that the healing process began.  He made me feel like I had purpose, and leaning on Him gave me the strength to help others overcome the same difficulties that I had experienced just a short time before.  It is my passion to see people who are suffering to overcome and have someone to lean on and to know that we all have problems, but that we are not the problem.  Problems are opportunities to overcome and I am an over comer with Jesus as the center of help.  Teaching others the word of God is my passion.
