Scriptural Discernment
“Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil” 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart” Hebrews 4:12
But
“The natural person does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned” 1 Cor 2:14
So
“See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elementary principles of the world, and not according to Christ” Col 2:8
And
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” Rom. 12:2
All these scriptures give us a taste of discernment and how to categorize where we are within them.
So join in the conversation as we evaluate scriptural discernment.
