The Cross That We Bear

“If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it” Matthew 16:24-25.

The cross paid for our sins by the blood, took care of our flesh by the crucifixion, and defeated the power of Satan in our lives by the resurrection.

Many times we see the cross as a one-time event because the Lord said, “it is finished” and we don’t see that it provides a daily living which calls us to bear our cross. Our command to bear our cross is found in Matt 10:38, Luke 14:27, and Matt 16:24.

Our cross is a choice, so it must refer to something which we choose to apply. It is the suffering a Christian endures as a consequence of following Christ in obedience.

So, join in the conversation as we discover the cross that we bear.
