Why Pro-Life?

Today we tackle the issue of sanctity of human life.  Immediately the scripture found in Psalms 139 sets out the  foundation for how and when we come into life.  “For you formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul  knows very well.  My frame was not hidden from you, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written.  The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them”.

Seeing how we were planned in the mind of God as being “formed ” by His doing, we can then turn to 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: “ Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?  For your were bought with  a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s”.

Based on only these two scripture passages, we have outlined for us the wrong of abortion. Hearing the stories of lives destroyed because they were convinced that they owned their own  bodies and can do with them as they please, sets up individuals, as well as a nation, to stand in the presence of God in disobedience and unbelief of the Truth; with consequences.
