How Is Your Operating System Part 2

“Set your affection on things above, not on things of the earth” Colossians 3:2. “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. And above all these things put on charity (love), which is the bond of perfectness” Colossians 3:12-14.

Janie and Sharon compare computer operating systems with our Christian operating system. In every system there is an authority. ¬†Thoughts are processed and decisions are made based on the authority we use for operating our system. There are six possible sources for authority in our lives. 1) Past Experiences 2) Present Circumstances 3) Reason or Intellect 4) Emotions 5) Physical Senses 6) God’s Word. A teaching handout is available to download. Once we understand which of these authorities we are using for our operating system, we can make the necessary adjustments by “updating” “upgrading” “downloading” and “rebooting” our system to allow God’s Word to be the authority in our lives.
